The Houston Rodeo Parade made its way through the streets of Houston on Saturday to the delight of fans.
The "Go Rodeo" cry has been heard on the streets of Houston every February since 1938.
"Our job is to tell Houston and the community around Houston that it's time to rodeo," said David Yates, the parade's chairman.
This year, Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin served as grand marshal, leading the parade through the streets of downtown.
Thirteen marching bands and seven floats rolled through the streets of downtown Houston. But most of the children Local 2 spoke with said they came to see the horses.
"We got 3,000 of them, so they ought to love this parade," said Yates.
Local 2's Courtney Zavala, Keith Garvin and Rany Mcllvoy were also a part of the parade.
The rodeo officially kicks off on Monday.
