The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey is seeking an Information & Education Librarian for its George F. Smith Library of the Health Sciences, located in Newark, NJ.
The Information & Education Librarian is responsible for the provision of in-person and virtual reference, and education services, in support of the educational, research, clinical, and community service missions of the UMDNJ. This position participates in the implementation of library and informatics training programs for the Newark and Scotch Plains campuses, as well as for University-wide Moodle courses, and is part of a team of librarians who make up the Information and Education department at the Smith Library.? The Information & Education Librarian utilizes the Web and other media to provide quality services for the UMDNJ community, evaluating, developing, and teaching both informal instructional sessions and formal classes to groups and individuals in the use of scholarly databases, electronic indexes, and full-text resources.? This position reports to the Associate Director of the George F. Smith Library of the Health Sciences.
The Information & Education Librarian is scheduled to work Monday ? Friday.

Qualifications:? A successful applicant must possess demonstrated instructional development and teaching abilities, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.? A thorough knowledge of basic health sciences reference sources is a plus.
Education and/or Experience:? Master?s Degree in Library Science is required.? Educational and scholarly credentials to warrant faculty appointment in one or more UMDNJ schools are required.? Must be proficient in the use of technology-based library systems; for example, integrated library systems, Web-based educational support and development, document imaging for scholarly information transfer, and/or scholarly information resources and databases.
Salary Range:? $58,464.00-$87,690.00, based upon qualifications of applicant.
