After the complaint filed against Rabbi David Goldberg in Germany for his defiance of a Cologne court?s ruling banning bris milah, another complaint has been received by Berlin police, this time against Rabbi Yitzchak Ehrenberg, for the latter?s public statements in support of continuing to perform a bris on Jewish children.
According to the Hebrew Haaretz report, Rabbi Ehrenberg, who serves as a rav in the western area of the city, was cited in the complaint for defying the court?s ruling with his public statements aired on television. The prosecutor decided to close the case because the rabbi did not violate any law.
Haaretz adds that Rabbi Ehrenberg is not concerned with what appears to be the increase in anti-Semitism in Germany, referring to recent attacks such as the one against Rabbi Alter.
On Friday night, the rav gave a drasha in his shul, stating ?I am an Israeli and I am not afraid. I take the subway and wear my yarmulke. I never feared any attack and Baruch Hashem, here in Germany it is not dangerous for Jews?.
